TJC awarding pins to Jacksonville VNE graduates
Tyler Junior College will present pins to 14 students in the TJC-Jacksonville vocational nursing education programs during a ceremony 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.
Introductions will be given by Kay Devereux, VNE department chair, and Kay Blount, professor and coordinator.
TJC President Dr. Mike Metke, Provost Dr. Homer "Butch" Hayes and Paul Monagan, dean of nursing and health sciences, will welcome the candidates and guests.
Professor Kay Blount will present the candidates, and pins will be placed by selected guests of the graduates.
The graduates will recite the vocational nursing pledge led by Professor Amy Massey.
Special recognition awards will be presented by Professor Genny Kilgore.
The invocation will be given by graduate nurse Daniel Garner, and graduate nurse Hailey Whitehead will give the benediction.
