TJC awarding pins to Rusk VNE graduates
Tyler Junior College will present pins to 19 students in the TJC-Rusk vocational nursing education programs during a ceremony noon Thursday, Aug. 9, in the Rusk High School Auditorium.
Introductions will be given by Kay Devereux, VNE department chair.
Welcome will be given by Dr. Homer "Butch" Hayes, TJC provost; Paul Monagan, dean of the TJC School of Nursing and Health Sciences; James I. Perkins, chairman and CEO of Citizens 1st Bank; and Dr. L. Michael Metke, TJC president.
Professor Felecia Mayo will present the candidates, and pins will be placed by selected guests of the graduates.
The graduates will recite the vocational nursing pledge led by Professor Michelle Pike.
Special recognition awards will be presented by Professor Jason Henderson.
The invocation will be given by graduate nurse Charly Payne, and graduate nurse Angela Rawlinson will give the benediction.
