TJC’s summer orientation has a board-game theme
Following the theme of the famous Milton Bradley board game, TJC’s Summer Orientation is putting its incoming freshmen on the path of Life.
Orientation dates are: June 13-14, June 20-21, June 27-28, July 18-19, and July 25-26.
"Summer Orientation is an action-packed, two-day experience designed to ease new students' transition from high school to college," said Vincent Nguyen, TJC director of student success. "In addition to touring our beautiful campus, meeting advisers and selecting classes for the fall semester, students will also learn about the proud traditions of TJC, get a real look at what campus life is all about, and they will meet people who will become their friends for life."
Parents and families are also encouraged to attend TJC Summer Orientation. Their sessions focus on payment plans, housing contracts, meal plans and tips for parents to help encourage their students to become even more successful in their college experience.
Each summer session has a limited enrollment and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is encouraged.
Cost for students is $50, and family members can attend for $25 fee/per person. Fees includes meals, entertainment and all program costs and materials. Parents and family members who wish to stay on campus can do so for an extra $15 per person. All fees must be paid through the registration process.
To register, go to www.tjc.edu/summerorientation.
Students with requiring special accommodations during orientation should contact Tina Dillman, in advance, to arrange interpreting services at 903-510-2841, or Margaret Rapp for all other disability accommodation needs at 903-510-2878.
