Women Entrepreneurs ‘fired up’ for Aug. 18 event
"Get your business all fired up!" will be the theme for the 14th Annual Women Entrepreneurs Networking Luncheon & Exhibit hosted by Tyler Junior College’s Small Business Development Center.
TJC and Tyler SBDC will be hosting the event, set 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at the Tyler Rose Garden Center.
The annual event provides an encouraging atmosphere that allows more than 250 entrepreneurs and professionals to build new relationships and celebrate women who have founded or increased their area business.
Women entrepreneurs and professionals attend this annual event for training, networking, inspiration and fun; and SBDC officials are expecting another sold-out event this year.
"Every year, the event grows to a new level, as do the many women entrepreneurs in our area," said Don Proudfoot, Tyler SBDC director. "It’s important for us to celebrate women’s achievements and possibilities and for successful women to share their knowledge with other up-and-coming business owners."
Guest speaker will be Susan Pack Reents, owner of the Hotel Fredonia in Nacogdoches. Reents will share her business success story and offer inspiration to other business women.
Greater Texas Capital Corporation is the event’s platinum sponsor; TJC and SBDC are gold sponsors; Austin Bank is silver sponsor; and many bronze sponsors supporting the event again this year will be in attendance.
The event activities start at 8:45 a.m. with the workshop, "Wearing All the Hats, Putting Out the Fires!" presented by guest speakers Stepp Sydnor and Holly Rand. The showcase exhibits open at 9 a.m. Networking and music begin at 10 a.m., followed by a fashion show by Sharon Young Boutique, lunch and program from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Reservations are required and tickets are available in advance. Tickets are $35 online www.TylerSBDC.com or call Kay Bookout at 903-510-2975.
